Depending on the needs of students, the Classical French Program can be taught starting from various levels as each level has its professionnal counter part degree. Students will discuss with Gil the field of activity and knowledge toward which they would like to orientate themselves. The vocabulary building will then be shaped in accordance to students’ choices.
French for Businesses with Gil follows the recommendations given by the Paris Chamber of Commerce and Industry for teaching French for career purpose.
Students will be invited to participate in dynamic oral practice to encourage expression of ideas in collective projects, but also opinions to present formally and informally, as well as incorporating new vocabulary and idioms depending on the field of choice.
Depending on the level, reading excercises of technical and professionnal documents are aimed at acquiring confidence in decrypting and understanding professional written French and sometimes hard to read official texts like public policies, laws, business contracts, etc.
To simulate institutional and business scenarios, role-plays like phone conversations, meetings, negociations and staff presentations in French are good exercises to practice.
In the process of training, grammatical notions will certainly need to be reviewed and consolidated to reach the point where students feel confortable manipulating sophisticated structures.
Groups of maximum 3 to 4 people are welcome. They will be able to train themselves together under the supervision of a private teacher. Role-plays will deploy their full potential.
Note that this course is a valuable preparation for the DFA1 (Diplôme de Français des Affaires 1), the DFA2 (Diplôme de Français des Affaires 2) and other diplomas which are offered by the Paris Chamber of Commerce and Industry.
